Nicki Minaj (born December 8, 1982) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actress and fashion designer. She was born in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Nicki gained public notability by releasing mixtapes before her breakthrough in 2010 with the release of her debut studio album "Pink Friday". She made history as the first female solo artist to have seven singles simultaneously charting on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. With over 80 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and counting, she holds the record for most hits among women artists, surpassing legends like Aretha Franklin and Mariah Carey.

Aside from her music career, Nicki Minaj has also worked as a waitress at Red Lobster restaurant in The Bronx, New York.
