Collection: Planxty

Formed in Newbridge in 1972, Planxty were one of the key groups in modern Irish folk music. Their work brought traditional Irish music into a new setting without losing its depth or detail, and helped define a fresh, influential current in the scene. The early album Planxty remains a clear starting point.
