Propeller Records

Pioneering New Zealand independent label operating from 1980 to 1983, Propeller Records is widely recognized as the first of the post-punk NZ indies. Although the label ceased operations after three years, it has continued to release various compilations over the years. Its subsidiaries, Huh Records and Joy Records, have been actively signing and releasing new artists since then. Initially distributed by Ode Records and later by Festival Records (NZ) Ltd., Propeller Records is currently distributed by DRMNZ. The label is owned by Simon Grigg.
