Collection: Throwing Muses

Throwing Muses formed in Rhode Island in 1981, building a restless, off-kilter strain of American alternative rock that also drew on post-punk. Led by Kristin Hersh, the band’s songs balance jagged tension with intimate writing, from their self-titled debut to later records including Sun Racket and Moonlight Concessions.
