Kategorie: Alton Ellis

Alton Ellis helped define rocksteady with a warm, soulful voice and songs that carried Jamaican music from ska into a steadier, more intimate groove. Born in Kingston, he began recording in 1959 as one half of Alton & Eddy, later cut classics for Studio One including I'm Still in Love With You, and moved to London in 1973.
