ANTI- has built a catalogue that comfortably holds veterans, left-field lifers and newer voices without sanding down what makes any of them distinct. In this sample alone, that range runs from Tom Waits, Mavis Staples and Neko Case to Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, Slow Pulp and The Beths.

That breadth tells you something useful about the label: it is less a house style than a place for strong songwriting, singular voices and artists who tend to work at their own pace. ANTI- has also been home to records including Closing Time, Mule Variations and Tigers Blood, linking long-established writers with contemporary independent rock and songcraft in a way that feels coherent rather than calculated.
