As one of the most talented solo turntablists in the world, *Cut Chemist* is also a member of two highly acclaimed groups: underground rap legends Jurassic 5 and Latin-funk band Ozomatli. He began his career with L.A. rap group Unity Committee, making his debut on wax with their single "Unified Rebelution" in 1993. His track "Lesson 4: The Radio" paid homage to Double D and Steinski's influential hip-hop collages and featured nods to Indeep, Bob James, Spoonie Gee, and Dan Ackroyd.
Shortly after this release, Unity Committee joined forces with another group called Rebels of Rhythm to form Jurassic 5. Cut Chemist played an integral role in the group, producing their self-titled EP and contributing the track "Lesson 6." He also ventured into remixing for artists like DJ Shadow and Liquid Liquid, as well as collaborating with other Los Angeles-based acts such as Less Than Jake and Ozomatli.
