Kategorie: Embrace

Embrace are an English band from Bailiff Bridge, near Brighouse in West Yorkshire, formed in 1993. They emerged in the post-Britpop years with a big, open-hearted style that could carry both bruised intimacy and singalong sweep, heard early on in songs like All You Good Good People.

Their catalogue charts a long, steady run rather than a brief moment: from The Good Will Out and Drawn From Memory to Out Of Nothing, This New Day and later records including Love Is A Basic Need, How To Be a Person Like Other People and Avalanche. That sense of durability matters with Embrace: they are a band who have kept returning to the same core strengths of melody, emotional directness and scale without losing their identity.
