Jose James

American baritone jazz singer from NYC, New York, USA. Jose James was born on 20 January 1978 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. He is of Irish and Panamanian descent and gained recognition after being signed by DJ Gilles Peterson to his independent label Brownswood Recordings in the late 2000s.

Jose James has collaborated with various artists throughout his career. Notably, he has recorded tracks for Italian musician and producer Nicola Conte on albums "Rituals" (2008) and "Free Souls" (2014), as well as Jazzanova on their album "Of All the Things" (2008), and Goldie on his album "The Journey Man" (2017), among others.
