Mercury Rev

Mercury Rev formed in Buffalo in 1989, first making soundtracks for student films before developing their psychedelic, experimental indie rock. After Boces, singer David Baker left and the group shifted towards a more melodic, bittersweet sound. That turn peaked with 1998’s Deserter’s Songs, a record that won them real recognition in the UK.
