Morrissey

British singer and songwriter Morrissey, born on May 22, 1959 in Manchester, UK, is best known as the former lead singer and co-founder of The Smiths. Starting his music career in the late 1970s with punk bands, he later formed The Tee Shirts and collaborated briefly with Billy Duffy. In 1982, Morrissey and Johnny Marr came together to form The Smiths, where he remained until his departure in late 1987. He then embarked on a successful solo career starting from 1988.

Prior to his musical journey, Morrissey had worked at the Inland Revenue.
