The Cues

The Cues were a rhythm 'n' blues vocal group consisting of Jimmy Breedlove, Ollie Jones, Eddie Barnes, Robie Kirk (an alias of Winfield Scott), and Abel Da Costa. They were brought to Atlantic Records by pianist and arranger Jesse Stone to provide backing vocals for the label's recordings of various stars. Interestingly, with each star they recorded with, The Cues adopted a different name such as The Gliders for LaVern Baker and The Ivorytones for Ivory Joe Hunter. Despite their contributions to Atlantic Records, they never had the opportunity to record as a main act.
