The Joe Harriott Quintet

The Joe Harriott Quintet was led by Jamaican-born saxophonist Joe Harriott and became a crucial force in British jazz. Their early-60s recordings, including Free Form, brought Harriott’s restless, open approach into a tight small-group setting, moving beyond bebop without losing its snap or discipline.
