Thurston Moore

Thurston Moore is an American guitarist and vocalist, born on 25 July 1958 in Coral Gables, Florida. He co-founded Sonic Youth in 1981 and is best known for his role as the band's guitarist and vocalist. Raised in Bethel, Connecticut, he was taught guitar by Glenn Branca. Thurston Moore married Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon in 1984, but they separated in 2011 and divorced in 2013. Alongside his music career, he also runs the Ecstatic Peace! label.
