William Bell

William Bell is a singer, songwriter, and producer who was born on July 16, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee. He began his music career as a teenager, releasing his first record with a local label in 1957. Bell played a pivotal role in the development of the Stax sound and had several hits throughout his career. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Judy Clay, Carla Thomas, Mavis Staples, and Janice Bullock. In addition to his successful music career, Bell has been recognized for his contributions to the industry by being inducted into various halls of fame and receiving awards.

In 1961, he released his first solo effort titled "You Don't Miss Your Water (Til the Well Runs Dry)", which became one of the early hits for the label he was signed to at that time. After serving two years in the Army from 1963 to 1965, Bell continued his music journey by releasing more albums under different labels.
