Haroldo Bontempo brings real spark to Ao Vivo em Quarteto, a live-in-the-studio session released by Cantores del Mundo. Born in Minas Gerais, he reshapes material from his modern MPB catalogue in a stripped-back setting that feels loose, immediate, and beautifully alive.

Backed by an acoustic quartet with flute, saxophone, bass, and drums, Bontempo moves easily between contemporary jazz improvisation, deep Bossa Nova forms, and the unmistakable glow of Clube da Esquina. It is a thoughtful, organic set with plenty of movement and warmth.

On LP, that stage energy comes through with superb analogue fidelity. A strong one for anyone drawn to modern Brazilian groove, contemporary jazz, and records that feel as intimate as they are rhythmically rich.
