Tina Records presents Apocalypse NOW That's What I Call Music, a compilation of visionary sounds for our contemporary End Times. Featuring some of the brightest stars in the musical firmament - this constellation includes both venerable luminaries and millenarian upstarts alike. Apocalypse is always now but this time it's really happening!
Stephen Thrower was a member of Coil between 1984 and 1992 before forming Cyclobe with his partner Ossian Brown, also a former Coil member. Stephen currently performs with the group UnicaZürn and writes books on cult and exploitation cinema as well as scoring music for films.
Kleistwahr is the solo project of Gary Mundy of Ramleh, Broken Flag, Breathless et al. Starting life as a power electronics project in 1982, Kleistwahr was revived in 2009 and has since covered a wide range of music from power electronics and harsh noise to post punk, ambient, psychedelia and beyond.
Mike Cooper first came to prominence as a blues guitarist in the early 60’s. Now 83 years old, with over 40 solo albums under his belt, his music sounds both timeless and utterly contemporary, situated somewhere between Takoma, Exotica, 4th World and Ambient. Folky MIR, aka Vanligt Folk, is a music group based in Sweden and Norway utilising drums, machines, backtracks, and vocals. Since their first release in 2013, they’ve released 5 full-length albums plus a handful of EPs on labels such as iDEAL Recordings, Kontra Musik and Kess Kill.
Nokuit has released on underground labels including wannamarchi club, NKT and Deathbed Tapes. His latest, Gates of Horn and Ivory, was released by Tina Records last year, and alongside Cut Hands, he remixed Roberto Musci on the inaugural Tina Records release.
Wolfs Angel is Gudrun and William Watts of Anti-Social Kultur England, with Vereker (Endangered Species, L.I.E.S, Berceuse Heroique). Apocalyptic folk music to drown your tears - songs about modern warfare, heathenism and romance.
Orlando Harrison (Alabama 3) produces and presents the The Wrong Show on Resonance FM. Previous projects include Identical, Red Crayola, the Amal Gamal Ensemble, Dr Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses, Guapo, and The Daughters of God.
Norman Church was featured on last years Pornographic Time compilation by Jordan based label Drowned by Locals and has been issuing his noise blasted dulcimer wanderings on his private press label The Pheasantry Society.
Das Letzte Gold Verfallener Sterne have been performing across Europe at events such as Death Cult Rising and recently released a cassette with American label Cloister Recordings.
La Santa maps the dysfunctional marriage of mafia and religion in Southern Italy. One previous release on the now defunct Broken Britain Cassettes, and a handful of performances in basements and abandoned churches across Europe.
This is the third release from Tina Records, following Cargo Cult by Roberto Musci and Gates of Horn and Ivory by Nokuit. These records received airplay from the likes of Surgeon, Helm and Not Waving on stations such as NTS, Resonance FM and BBC 6 Music. Cargo Cult was named one of the best releases of the year by Bleep. Tina Records is based in London and Rome.
