Ten New Songs

What was released in 2001 under the succinct title ‘Ten New Songs’ is a brilliant album by Canadian poet Leonard Cohen, who, together with his arranger and co-author Sharon Robinson, has immortalised a piece of deep personal life experience on CD. The songs may not develop their lyrical power on the first listen, but after repeated savouring, songs such as ‘In My Secret Life’, ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep’ and ‘Boogie Street’ present themselves as timeless diamonds in Cohen's unparalleled oeuvre.
