Vampire Eyes is fundamentally Havelocke; the heavier parts, the big chorus, the spooky vibes. Lyrically, it was written before Covid-19, though it is about isolation. I didn’t know what was coming, and yet Vampire Eyes became more relevant each day. Sometimes, leaving the house and seeing the real world is so hard. It’s easier to sit in front of the TV, ignoring everything. Vampire Eyes is about that becoming your norm, until seeing the natural light gives a sharp shock to the system.
