At The Sign Of The Swinging Cymbal is likely Moore’s best-known work, familiar to many as the theme from BBC Radio’s Pick Of The Pops. Written and first recorded by Brian Fahey in 1960, Moore’s March 1970 version swings far harder than the stiffer original.

Issued on Pye as Brass Incorporated, the single sold poorly. On the flip, Moore’s self-penned Just Like That was written to order as the theme for Terry Wogan’s BBC radio show, first on Radio 1 and mostly on Radio 2, where it remained in use for decades.
