It was while touring with their respective groups that Andy Balcon and Damien Felix met a few years ago, bumping into each other regularly on the road and meeting backstage to talk about music, idols, and discuss a hypothetical collaboration. Obviously the 2 musicians share a common ground, that of blues, soul, music full of mojo. A few years go by without them crossing paths. In spring 2020 they get back in touch, the idea of working together becomes serious and after a few exchanges a first song is created.
DEAD CHIC was born. Over the years, touring and traveling, the 2 musicians have digested their influences, nourished their culture and affirmed their personalities. The marriage of the two instantly sparks, the collaboration then seems obvious.Their music is a call to the great landscapes, arid plains, deep valleys and rocky peaks. Andy's voice echoes like an incantation, a sermon in a dark ceremony with the fuzz and the organs as witnesses. A banquet at dusk where we meet the ghosts of Leone, Motown divas, Vaqueros, Mariachis. Damien's guitars, bursting with reverb, weave the backdrop and make lightning appear on the plain.DEAD CHIC's music is raw and classy, sexy and racy. The references are there but without falling into a hackneyed revival.Seasoned performers, the concerts promise to be intense, feverish.Surrounded on stage by two colossi Mathis Akenginon keyboards and Rémi Ferbuson drums,DEAD CHIC’s mass will be resolutely rock and wild.
