Before The Gold Rush is a 3CD survey of early American country rock, tracing the scene’s formative years through 76 tracks across four hours of music. A 48-page booklet adds obscure photos and notes on every song.

As psychedelia gave way, West Coast rock musicians began folding Nashville and Grand Ole Opry traditions into something new. This set follows that shift from trailblazers like Rick Nelson, The Everly Brothers and Jerry Lee Lewis to Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Poco, The Band and Little Feat.

It captures the genre’s creative peak in the late 1960s and early 1970s, before the smoother mainstream rise of Linda Ronstadt and Eagles. A rich, wide-ranging listen for anyone drawn to the roots of country rock and proto-Americana.
