Carpet

This 10-track reissue of cult melodic death metal gem Carpet captures Ceremonial Oath at a formative moment, with a line-up packed with future Swedish metal heavyweights.

Originally released in 1994 via Black Sun, Carpet was not a full album, but a collection of two demos plus an Iron Maiden cover. This edition adds three bonus tracks: a Metallica cover and two cuts recorded for the compilation W.A.R. Volume 1.

The first three tracks feature Anders Friden, now frontman of In Flames. The next three feature Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates. Also in the band were Oscar Dronjak of Hammerfall, Jesper Stromblad of In Flames, and bassist Anders Iwers, later of Cemetary and Tiamat.

This reissue also includes new interviews with Anders Iwers and drummer Markus Nordberg, reflecting on how Ceremonial Oath became the nearly-men of Swedish death metal.
