now, now every children are cacie dalager (vocals, guitar) and brad hale (drums) from blaine, minnesota. before 2007, now, now every children released two eps to critical acclaim: 'not one, but two' and 'in the city.' their lo-fi recordings in combination with dalager's heartbreaking voice championed the attention of some of the harshest critics of all. 'cars, now, now every children's is their first full-length album - re-recording 3 of the singles off their first two eps plus 7 more brand new tracks. the first thing you'll notice when you listen to now, now every children is cacie dalager's vocals. they're big, powerful and commanding. they're also innocent, alluring and simple. they're both at the same time, a trick that turns cars into something that's a little harder to pin down than your average basement-recorded debut. the second thing you'll notice is dalager's guitar skills, albeit you'll notice them a lot later than her voice. when her six-string emerges from the shadows, it alternately taps the loose, jangly sounds of luna or beat happening, then unexpectedly explodes into peals of commanding power that borrows the spirit of my bloody valentine, hum and the jesus and mary chain. on tapete.
