‘Coin de l’œil’ is the debut LP from Paris-based Healees, following their 2022 self-titled maxi-EP. Stories of isolation, illness, illicit crushes, and heavy drugs, set to dreamy, driving shoegazey power-pop, the album represents two years of recordings refined via the band’s live shows. Hailing from the US, Sweden, Belgium and France, the quartet is Bryan Quinn (guitars, vocals, synths, percussion), Renaud Chauré (guitars, vocals), Hillevi Robertsson (bass, vocals) and Arthur Chen (drums). Healees has been described as ‘21st-century shoegazers amazingly as great as 1988-1995’s originals” (the Big Takeover) and ‘the best shoegaze band in France’ (Paris Popfest), and nothing else!
