Décima Víctima were active for less than three years, but their run from 1981 to 1984 produced some of the most distinctive and coherent music in Spanish post-punk. There are clear echoes of Joy Division and The Cure, but the band’s identity was always entirely their own.

The group began in Madrid, with Carlos Entrena rehearsing alongside Lars Mertanen and Per Mertanen in the Mertanens’ cellar, first with a drum machine. After an early 4-track demo, they co-founded the independent label GASA with friends from Esclarecidos. Their first single arrived in 1982, before Jose Brena joined on drums.

This 3CD set gathers the complete recordings from 1982 to 1984, reissued on CD for the first time: the LPs Décima Víctima, Un hombre solo and En el garaje, early EPs, the Un lugar en el pasado 12-inch and demos. Artwork comes from the band, with a 12-page booklet of notes and photos.
