Deep Harbour

One of dubstep’s quiet greats, Commodo links with jazz innover Alfa Mist for Deep Harbour, landing on Black Acre as the label reaches its 100th release. It’s a sharp meeting point between two distinct musical worlds, handled with real feel and purpose.

The record moves in two clear directions: one a melodic reworking of late-2000s dubstep shaped by electric piano, the other a darker, more abstract take on jazz-leaning half-step. Both sides show how naturally Commodo and Alfa Mist connect without blurring what makes each of them unique.

There are also two reimaginings from Anz. Her ‘Safe Place Mix’ leans subtle and reflective, while the ‘Defensive Mix’ pushes things toward a rougher, club-ready zone. As Commodo puts it, Anz felt like the perfect remixer for the project.
