Downward Is Heavenward

Champaign, Illinois band Hum is re-issuing its four-album catalog on vinyl with exclusive distribution by Polyvinyl Records. The band members oversaw every step of the re-mastering, lacquer cutting, and manufacturing stages while working with original designer Andy Mueller/Ohio Girl in updating the artwork. Each album is offered in a double-LP 180g set on black. 

Hum's 1998's Downward Is Heavenward is the magnum opus of all their studio albums. It showcases what would have been the next generation of hum music, although due to poor sales and a label drop from RCA the band eventually disbanded at the end of 2000. The mix of grunge and space rock compliments each other nicely with the right amount of heavy riffs and psychedelic alure.
