Dreaming For Miles

“The heart is a book. We write on it, and it remains.”

Anamnesis is a force of recollection, a road into the world of memory. It literally means “to make a past event present now”. Dreaming for Miles is a collection of songs written over the past ten years or so by JJ Weihl and John Moods, alone and together.

Recorded between the basement practice space where they started their band Fenster many years ago and their home in Berlin, it was made during their separation as a last record together. They played, produced and mixed every song, mostly on a Tascam Portastudio 488 between winter 2023 and 2024. Some songs were old demos they never finished; others were written during the recording process.

It’s an imperfect attempt at making an album during a breakup: saying farewell to a shared life and starting a friendship as different versions of themselves, changed by one another.
