Dyrd I Dauoathogn

First time on vinyl. Asgeir's debut album 'Dyrd í Dauoathogn', produced by Gudmundur Kristinn Jonsson, immediately recalls the heavenly vocals of Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and light electronic touch of British glitch pop sensation James Blake. His Icelandic lyrics however make for an easy distinction, and to non-Icelandic speakers sound as poetic as they really are. The songs are light and airy, inset with Asgeir's distinctive melancholic voice their vibrancy elevates them way beyond the folktronica tag. Initially released in Iceland, an English version of 'Dyrd i Aaudathogn' is in the making with lyrics translated by American musician John Grant.
