Carlos Ibarra is the composer, musician, and artist behind Maulón. Collaborating with various artists, Maulón aims to create unique, beautiful, strange, and alluring art.

The name Maulón comes from Carlos's grandmother, who was a member of the Mapuche people in Chile, and it translates to "a wet valley." Carlos Ibarra started his music career as a guitarist and songwriter in local bands before gaining recognition in the metal and punk scene in Europe.

He was a guitarist, songwriter, and producer for the death metal band Age Of Woe, with whom he recorded two albums and two EPs: Inhumanform (Suicide Records, 2013) and An Ill Wind Blowing (War-Anthem, 2016).

Aside from his work with Age Of Woe, Carlos has also released music with other bands such as Terrorstat, which includes members from Walk Through Fire and Serpent Omega, and Wefring, featuring members from The Leather Nun, Exhale, and Psycore, among others.
