Era Decay

Seth presents Era Decay, the 2004 album of high-calibre extremity from the French metal masters, marking twenty years since its release. Presented on CD for the first time since the 2004 original, this edition includes a booklet with full lyrics.

Seth was formed back in 1995 and is known as being among the primary acts in the French black metal scene. Their 1998 debut, Les Blessures de l'Ame, is regarded as a landmark album and a cornerstone of French Black metal since its release on the then freshly-established label, Season of Mist. Seth has become firmly established as an internationally recognized act as a result. The band went on to release a further five studio offerings over the next twenty-five years, branching out into other spectrums of extreme metal along the way before returning to the more grimly-atmospheric sounds of yore. The band is also set to return in 2024 with their new studio album.

Era Decay was Seth's fourth studio opus, originally surfacing in 2004. It continued to establish a more brutal integration of riffing and compositional styles and ideas which was indicative of the times, while also still retaining some blackened metal elements among more progressively technical ingredients. With a cleaner, more cutting production, this resulted in one of the band's heaviest outputs, with intricate riffs and melodies interweaving to create a powerfully dark and at times experimental opus. This edition of Era Decay is presented on CD for the first time since its original 2004 release and includes a booklet with full lyrics.
