With Esquina, Michael Sarian with the same musicians from his prior 3 releases, Esquina is a sharp turn into expansive pulsating jazz fusion, marked by wild, Jon Hassell-esque processed trumpet, synthesizers and electric organs and pianos, and galloping rhythms that would not be out of place on Miles Davis' Agharta or On the Corner albums.

The album includes a fantastic version of the song Glory Box originally by trip-hop legends Portishead.
