Emerging from New York City’s thriving scene of twenty-something rockers, Retail Drugs funnels Jake Brooks’ early adulthood experiences through layers of fuzz, distortion, and guitars that land somewhere between grunge and noise. Throwing himself into the city’s storied community of rock enthusiasts as soon as possible, Brooks has spent the last 2 years writing, recording, and playing every DIY show that came his way. Now, Retail Drugs' prolific discography is available for its first-ever widespread physical release via Fire Talk Records' emerging artists imprint, Angel Tapes. Factory Reset takes a stark detour from Brooks’ prior releases, abandoning guitar-forward tape-recorded compositions, and instead doubling down on the experimental electronic impulses scattered throughout Brooks’ prolific discography.
