Sam Burton, the LA and Salt Lake City-based Palestinian-American indie-folk songwriter, arrives on Captured Tracks with Fairweather Friend. Drawing from the lineage of Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan, Burton carries that tradition forward with real clarity and heart.

Built around stripped-down guitar and Burton’s melancholy voice, Fairweather Friend has a timeless, lived-in feel. Produced by Jonathan Wilson, known for work with Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, and Margo Price, the album was recorded in Topanga and Echo Park.

Shaped by Los Angeles and Burton’s relationship to his own heart and integrity, this is a record with quiet weight. He tours the US with Aldous Harding and the EU and UK with Widowspeak, following past runs with Weyes Blood and Drugdealer.
