Geraint’s 1979 debut of high-pedigree rock’n’roll – the first time on CD. Comes with eight bonus unreleased tracks – including 4 with famed producer Glyn Johns. Geraint Watkins spent his early days in a pub-rock apprenticeship, until this rock’n’roll LP was produced in 1979 by Andy Fairweather Low for Vertigo. The back-story to the album is told by Andy in the booklet notes and narrated in a coming video. The album features one Geraint song, Deep in the Heart of Texas, later covered by Don McLean, NRBQ and Dave Edmunds amongst others. Geraint and the Dominators went on to back Shakin' Stevens on his hits, then Dave Edmunds, and became Willy and the Poor Boys alongside three of the Rolling Stones. Geraint became the piano and accordion player of choice for top artists such as Van Morrison, Rory Gallagher, Mark Knopfler, Nick Lowe, Status Quo, Bill Wyman, Paul McCartney, etc. He’s been covered and championed by many notable artists and his song craft, interpretations, instinctive feel and engaging performances all elevate him to be an equal amongst his peers.
