God Save the Animals

Alex Giannascoli from Philadelphia, PA features God in the title of his new album, as well as in the first song and multiple tracks throughout. It is not meant to represent a concrete religious entity, but rather a symbol of a generalized sense of faith that strengthens Giannascoli or the characters he portrays in the songs, especially in difficult situations.

Besides drawing inspiration from pop music, Giannascoli has been influenced by artists who find a balance between the public and private, the obscure and intimate, and who view faith as a shared social language rather than strict religious beliefs.

Similar to his previous works, Giannascoli wrote and demoed the songs for this album on his own, at home. However, in order to explore new sounds and to have a change of environment, he collaborated with several engineers to achieve the best possible recording quality. The outcome is an album that is more dynamic than ever in its sonic range.
