Gwar Is Not The Answer

Acid Pauli returns to the strange, inviting world of Gwar Is Not The Answer, first released in 2006 on Smaul, now carefully remastered with two new remixes from Jonathan Kaspar and Acid Pauli. The title track moves at an easy pace, threading loose acid lines through warm percussion and off-centre melodic fragments.

There’s a gentle momentum running through it, with eccentric textures held steady by a grounded groove. Jonathan Kaspar takes it somewhere leaner and more tensile, sharpening the edges while keeping its odd charm intact. His version leans into a focused club framework, with rolling low-end and finely detailed rhythmic movement.

On the flip, Acid Pauli opens the track into something more spacious and fluid, where shimmering tones orbit a deep pulse and subtle harmonic shifts slowly come into view. Across all three versions, the release moves between psychedelic house, understated dancefloor utility and the idiosyncratic storytelling that defines Acid Pauli.
