Hand.Cannot.Erase. is an album rooted in sonic and spiritual modernity, an inventive blend of bleak and brooding industrial soundscapes as described by The Guardian. Steven Wilson, four-time Grammy nominee, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founder member of Porcupine Tree, released his critically acclaimed fourth solo album Hand.Cannot.Erase. in 2015.

Recorded at London's illustrious Air Studios, Steven reunited with Guthrie Govan on guitar, Adam Holzman on keyboards, Theo Travis on flute/sax, Nick Beggs on bass/stick, and Marco Minneman on drums. The basic story or concept of the record revolves around a woman growing up, moving to live in the city, becoming very isolated, and then one day disappearing without anyone noticing. But there's more to it than that. As Steven Wilson explains, "What's interesting about this story is that your initial reaction when you hear a story like that is, 'Ah, little old bag lady that no one notices, no one cares about.' She wasn't like that. She was young, popular, attractive, had many friends, and had family, but for whatever reason, nobody missed her for three years."
