Incredible Shrinking Dickies

The Dickies emerged from the San Fernando Valley in the late 1970s, with members including Stan Lee on lead guitar, Chuck Wagon on keys and sax, Karlos Kaballero on drums, Billy Club on bass, and Leonard Graves Phillips as frontman.

Their blend of furious riffs, catchy lyric hooks, and goofball antics landed them a contract with A&M after the Pistols’ defection. This excellent debut album captures the band at their best, with songs like ‘You Drive Me Ape’ and ‘Mental Ward’ inspiring audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Released in 1978, the album hit the UK top 20 and features six bonus tracks.

It includes hit singles like ‘Silent Night’, ‘Banana Splits’, and ‘Paranoid’, with the latter reaching No.7 on the National Chart. This debut album by madcap punks The Dickies reached No.18 in the UK national charts during a five-month run in the Top 40.

The LP comes with a booklet containing lyrics to all the songs, as well as reproductions of sleeves and memorabilia from the time.
