It's A Joy To Be Alive

It’s A Joy To Be Alive is the third album from married British folk-pop duo Ferris & Sylvester. Across 11 tracks, they explore joy and hope in life’s darker corners, drawing on their own experiences of music, marriage and parenthood.

Written and recorded in their own studio and released via Archtop Records, it finds Ferris & Sylvester pushing their sound forward. The vocal harmonies, hooky guitar riffs and balance of sweetness and grit are still here, now joined by a clear 1970s pop influence.

Strings and backing vocals bring to mind Burt Bacharach and Carpenters, while the emotional core stays raw and direct. It’s their strongest and most vulnerable record yet, showcasing the “immaculate harmonies” praised by Rolling Stone Magazine.
