ahab are a young band from East London who play American alt-country and are gaining a strong following with live audiences and radio DJs.

From being invited to play Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival in the summer of 2010 as complete unknowns on the strength of a YouTube video of a busking performance, to playing Denmark's equivalent of "Live Aid" just a year later, ahab's career progression has been rapid.

The legendary producer John Leckie attended one of the band's early low-key shows and offered to record and produce "Lucy," a download-only single. To promote it, they played their first national tour in early 2011 comprising more than 20 shows, with most of the dates selling out in advance.

Their new EP, "KMVT," was then recorded at Real World Studios just before the summer festival season, with John Leckie once again at the helm.
