La Turnaround

in the 1970s jansch recorded three albums for the famous charisma label: 'la turnaround', 'santa barbara honeymoon' and 'a rare conundrum'. this is the first-time cd release of these three seminal albums. they have been out of print for over 25 years and are highly sought after albums amongst bert jansch's fans and collectors. jansch has supervised the re-mastering of each album and hand-picked the bonus material (most of which is previously unreleased). 'la turnaround' was jansch's debut album for charisma records (9th studio album in total). it was originally released september 1974, and is jansch's most sought after album. the first 10 tracks were produced by former monkee michael nesmith. the bonus material includes alternate versions of: 'open up the watergate', 'one for jo' and 'the blacksmith' (all previously unreleased) and jansch's christmas single 'in the bleak midwinter' - recorded late in 1974. also included is 'la turnaround - the movie' which includes previously unseen 13 minute cinema-verit film, made during recordings at stratton smith's sussex mansion featuring bert, mike nesmith and red rhodes.
