2008 self titled album by Langhorne Slim. The celebratory vibe of Langhorne Slim's music is a welcome respite from the relentlessly dour navel-gazing that dominates much post-millennial indie-folk. The Pennsylvania-born Slim rocks joyous horns, shout-along Stax/Volt choruses, and rollicking major-key shuffles to create an effortlessly likeable follow-up to his 2005 full-length debut. Possessed of a raggedy John Fogerty tenor, Slim brings gleeful soul to every track here.
