Late Night Endless

On-U started in the early 1980s and emerged from a fertile UK post-punk scene that was embracing Jamaican rhythms. The early releases on On-U Sound fused these influences into a unique sound and some truly radical albums that still sound fresh today, and are a firmly acknowledged influence on many modern producers and labels. As it developed the label came synonymous with its own updated brand of dub reggae and notably used the same core family of musicians who were put together in different combinations to make a multitude of groups, such as Dub Syndicate, African Head Charge, Singers and Players, Creation Rebel and New Age Steppers. Adrian Sherwood also developed a successful career as a producer and remixer for other labels, working with Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, The Fall, Blur, Primal Scream, Air and Lee Perry, amongst many others.
