Lust

Having sat in her closet for 29 years, Gearbox Records present city-pop trailblazer Nanaco Sato’s Lust.

Recorded across 1996–97 at Maison Rouge, the album captures Sato’s eclectic nature and features musicians including Danny Cummings, Brinsley Ford, Dan Boutwood, James Denham and Charles Price.

It’s a record that defies neat categorisation, reflecting both Sato’s explorative musical career and the unconstrained way in which it was conceived. Tracks span abstract jazz vocals on “Love Trip”, Tibetan folk on “The Sorrow Of The Wind”, psychedelic pop on “Mad Memories”, global rhythms on “Angel Whispers Midnight”, avant-rock on “A Dirge For Coral”, undulating sitars on “Never Ending Love Letter” and funk-rock on “Hell’s Bloom”.
