Made In Senegal

Orchestra Baobab return with Made In Senegal, their first new studio album since Tribute To Ndiouga Dieng in 2017. Released by Strut Records with Madoky Music, it was recorded entirely in Dakar and celebrates home, heritage, love and resilience.

More than 50 years on from their start at Dakar’s Baobab Club, the group still sounds timeless, folding Afro-Cuban rhythms, Wolof griot traditions, mbalax, Congolese rumba and jazz into one unmistakable style.

The current line-up includes Thierno Koité, Taga Koité, Moussa Cissokho, Yahya Fall, Zacharia “Papino” Koité, Korka Dieng, Malick Sy, René “Bolero” Sowatche and Wilfrid Zinzou. Highlights include Togne Bakhoul by late vocalist Rudy Gomis, Tioro Bye Samba, Casamance and Baobab 50 Ans.
