It's a brilliant way into one of the lesser-known gems from King's most inspired run. Originally released as a key early statement for ABC-Paramount after his time with Kent Records, Mr. Blues draws from three different recording sessions and captures B.B. King in terrific form.

Recorded in 1962 in Los Angeles and New York, these songs offer a revealing look at King's range as a vocalist, guitarist and interpreter. Taken together, they make a strong case for why B.B. King remains such a towering figure in the blues. Universally hailed as the King of the Blues, his seven-decade career came to a close when he passed away in Las Vegas on May 14, 2015.

One of the most imitated blues guitarists and singers of all time, King brought real presence to every performance, and his influence across the world is hard to overstate. This set features B.B. King on vocals and guitar alongside a talented supporting cast.
