Roving Jewel is a Californian rap and hip-hop maverick who dropped his The 38th Expansion album back in 2020 and now the heads behind Mukatsuku serve up one of its best tunes, as showcased in a recent sound check by DJ Koco from Japan recently at London's Jazz Café who gave it his stamp of approval. 'On Everything' features Substantial and marries a smooth, ideas-rich and Common-style lyrical flow with melancholic guitar licks and a classic boom bap. It's artful hip hop with all kinds of depths. On the flip, the exclusive unreleased funk drenched instrumental allows the gorgeous strings and piano keys to really make their mark. A very tidy 7" that will fly, so don't hang about.
