Outside

Outside gathers singles, EPs and unreleased home recordings by National Park, spanning 1997 to 2026. Built around the songs of lead singer John Hogarty, guitarist with The Pastels since 2010, it traces a long, quietly distinctive path through the band’s world.

Additional contributions come from Scott Walker and Sushil Dade of Future Pilot AKA. Byron Coley of The Wire heard echoes of The Velvet Underground, Galaxie 500 and Yo La Tengo, while noting it doesn’t sound like anything else.

National Park describe their music as occupying the space between the visceral and the whistleable, and that feels just right for a collection like this.
